~ how does it work?
Openchat is an application you install alongside Roblox. It overlays an external chat window above your Roblox client, connecting you with other players on the openchat network.
is it safe? ~
We're not rich enough to digitally sign our apps, so some operating systems may report them mistakenly as being unsafe. Openchat's client is fully open-source, allowing anyone to check for themselves.
~ what about moderation?
We believe that if you've installed openchat, you're responsible enough to decide what you want to see or not. Instead of filtering on our servers, openchat lets you decide what you want to see by giving you client-sided filtering tools.
does roblox care? ~
I have no idea yet. I see no reason for them to take action against openchat and its users since it's completely off-platform, it only uses Roblox's Open Cloud API for user authentication, and does not modify the client in any way.
